Mickey Mouse’s Pumpkintown Carnival

We invite you to step right up to the happiest Halloween celebration around! The air is crisp, the pumpkins are glowing brightly, and the streets of Mickey Mouse’s Pumpkintown are alive with the spirit of the season. Join Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and all their Disney friends as they turn the town square into a Halloween carnival full of fun and festivity with this collection.

Traveling carnivals

Traveling carnivals trace their origins to medieval agricultural fairs and festivals, but the modern American carnival emerged in the 1890s. Much of its popularity can be credited to the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, whose innovative attractions and larger-than-life spectacles captured the imagination of visitors and helped inspire the traveling carnivals that would soon entertain communities across the country.

The world’s first Ferris Wheel made its debut at the Exposition and this giant wheel in the sky is often the image that most people think of when they know the carnival is coming to town. The first Ferris Wheel was designed and built by George Washington Gale Ferris. It was intended to rival the French Eiffel Tower that was the centerpiece of the Paris Exposition four years earlier in 1889.

Department 56's Gawrsh Darn Fun!

Our Ferris Wheel, Gawrsh Darn Fun!, is a crowd favorite, featuring whimsical pumpkin-shaped gondolas with Goofy proudly taking the very first ride. As if that weren't enough, this attraction comes to life with both animation and sound, bringing all the excitement of a real carnival midway to your Pumpkintown display.

Department 56's Minnie's Kissing Booth

Another beloved attraction at carnivals and community fairs is the classic “kissing booth.” Popularized in the early 20th century, kissing booths were often used as fundraisers for local organizations and clubs, with volunteers offering a friendly kiss in exchange for a small donation. Pumpkintown keeps this charming tradition alive. And really, who could resist a sweet kiss from Minnie Mouse herself?

Department 56's Balloon Darts Game

Department 56 is excited to introduce several new Disney characters dressed in their best Halloween costumes, and we know some of them are among your favorites! Along with Mickey and Minnie, you’ll spot Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and the lovable duck triplets Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The trio is dressed as mischievous pirates, ready to “Take A Chance” at the new “Balloon Darts Game.” It looks like Louie may already have the winning throw!

Department 56's Not Ready To Share S/3

In “Not Ready To Share,” Chip and Dale hustle up their tree fortress, dreaming up playful schemes to guard their Halloween loot from any would-be candy hunters. Adding to the playful Halloween charm, the tree glows an eerie green, casting a spooky light over their secret stash and festive surroundings. The set also includes two festively colored pumpkin topiaries that bring extra seasonal flair to the scene.

The fun doesn't stop here for Pumpkintown collectors. Word around the village is that a hauntingly good addition is planned for next year, along with an all-new character joining the growing cast of residents. Start saving space in your display now, because you'll want to make room for what's coming next!

Pumpkintown is a delightful way to celebrate the fall season, especially for village collectors who love sharing their collections with children. With its vibrant colors, whimsical details, and family-friendly charm, it brings smiles to visitors of all ages. For collectors, it is also the perfect excuse to add "just one more piece" to the display, even when the village has already outgrown its original footprint. After all, building a village is never really finished, it simply keeps expanding one pumpkin stand, carnival ride, or storefront at a time. Pumpkintown's cheerful spirit and playful scenes make it a treasured centerpiece for any Halloween village collection.

Happy Villaging!
